Google Drive for Work getting plethora of new security features

The video in the link below says it well.  Google Apps for Work is a solution to manage this issue.
"Employees need to share documents and if IT doesn't provide the tools, employees will find the convenient technology to get the job done.  Even if that means 3rd party tools that put your data at risk to all kinds of threats."

Facebook's 10-Year Plan To Become The Matrix

Time travel into the future of Virtual Reality - VR / Artificial Intelligence - AI:
" If you look beyond the silly goggles for a moment, it’s a beautiful conceit about connecting humanity. Except for one thing: They don’t want to simply map Facebook on a world that already exists, adding share buttons to life events. They want to suck the real world inside Facebook's virtual walls. They want you to live in the Facebook Matrix.

Want to keep individuals engaged with your content?  This does make sense!

Facebook bets on Internet drones and virtual reality tech

I like the keyword affordably!

Aircraft like these will help connect the whole world because they can affordably serve the 10 percent of the world’s population that live in remote communities without existing Internet infrastructure.

The cord-cutter's guide: calculate what it would cost to get all of your TV online

The internet provides a wealth of video exposure; especially with YouTube and other proprietary apps or web browsers.

How does this affect businesses?

My opinion - never has there been more tools available to small businesses to capture opportunities from TV media.  I personally watch little to no TV because so much content is available to me online (many with little to zero commercials too).

What are your thoughts?

Trolls on the internet

Bullies in high school, trolls as adults, phishers as criminals?

I believe an open and free internet is a privilege in our society of free speech.

However; bullies, trolls, phishers will put pressures on our government to react.

What are your thoughts on internet trolls and phishers?

Apple broadcast TV

Competition is good for the consumer.

This applies to consumers of broadcast TV.

Five years ago; I would have never though of Apple broadcast TV as being viable.

However, today with so many great advances in wireless and smartphone technology I embrace the idea of broadcast TV competition on mobile devices.

Disorganization - With or Without Technology

Stop - Think - Breathe.

Is disorganization stealing your time, attention, and health?

In the last several weeks I taught Gmail and Google Drive classes.  Attendees walked-in with a state of technology disorganization; and walked-out with an education to be more effective with their lives and work.

I encourage everyone to become more organized with your email and other digital assets.

It starts with learning; learning more to become as effective as possible.

Why are you and I a Gmail user?

Yes, I have many email addresses; Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud, Me, AOL and more.  I use them to sample their features.  Yet, I find myself coming back to Google Gmail for these reasons:
  1. Free got me started; now it is a better value when compared to other suites
  2. Ease of use and good documentation
  3. Google provides the most free cloud storage
  4. I like the Google ecosystem:
    • Software: Chrome-Drive-Docs-Sheets-Slides-Drawings-Sites-Blogger-GooglePlus-YouTube--Voice-Hangouts- and many more
    • Hardware: Chromebook, Android mobile devices
  5. Less advertisements, spam
  6. Secure mobility on multiple devices, 2 factor authentication

Provide your comments as to why do you use (or not use) Gmail?
